My Story
As an avid reader growing up, I often looked to and leaned on story characters for inspiration, motivation, and comfort.
Thus, it became my hope that in creating these characters, that soon took on life of their own, that maybe someone, somewhere who needed to not feel alone, who needed to feel understood, or maybe who needed help understanding, would find comfort in their words and stories.
I have always held out the hope that the world could be changed through writing, and that in a way, a pen is a sword, and is best used to protect.
In that way, I had hoped to write a story that would break the conventions of the hero who trained, and then saved the day with the help of some friends and a golden thread of fate.
Instead, I wanted to write a story with characters that struggled in different ways; struggled in maybe more relatable, less talked about ways.
A story where readers with similar experiences in themselves or a loved one, would maybe feel seen and less alone.
Thus, Betwixt Monsters and Guardians was born.
It's my dream that even if my words don't change the world in a big way, that perhaps one day they'll change someone's world for the better, in some way.
For me, that would be everything and more.
